Situated in a very quiet neighborhood, this place is just perfect for relaxing, but still is minutes away from the animated street of Anton Valley. The big patio and hammock overlooking the large garden were perfect for relaxing. Big, beautiful garden with many birds. The hot spring pool was huge and pretty and the temperature was perfect day and night. The house was sparkling clean. The bed and linens were clean and very comfortable. Owners were super friendly and helpful and were always instantly responsive over phone!

Wonderful and beautiful villa, great big rooms, all the little details included, quiet, nice hosts, ability to put things in the kitchen fridge, short walk to town, restaurants, parking. We stayed 5 nights and moved from room to room. Both were good.

Patty is a very nice host. We really enjoyed our stay in Valle de Anton. the house is a bit rustic but that is already visible in the photos and part of the charm. Generally i would recommend to book the loft (upstairs) if you like bird watching. We put fruit in the feeder downstairs and hardly saw any bird. While on the upstairs balcony there were lots of birds without food :) Unfortunately the upstairs room wasnt available when we booked, but then ended up being empty the whole time while we were there. I really like that some basic cooking things were in the kitchen like coffee, oil, salt etc. there is also a big oven - a lot of vacation rentals dont have that.

Location was excellent, with comfortable beds and all the required amenities in good working order. Perfect for our 3 night stay. It’s a 5 min walk to a good size supermarket, 15 mins to the main ‘downtown’ Avenida with restaurants and the mercado. 3 amazing hikes to the top of the ancient caldera, and the butterfly farm is a must see. We were able to park our car inside their gate, and the home is a 15 min walk to access one of the 3 primary hikes in the area, India Dormida. Jose and his partner, Liz, are wonderful hosts, and made us feel like family. The breakfast is simple and filling, and we could use their fridge and also made a meal or two using the kitchen facilities. Jose and Liz are gracious hosts and Jose is very witty. They made our time there a truly fun and memorable experience. Communication was excellent, in English and Spanish, despite my spouse and I having very limited Spanish language skills. Local knowledge, tips, and recommendations on things to do in the area were great and super appreciated. Finally, Jose joined us on one of our hikes and he made it super fun and interesting with his knowledge of local flora and fauna. This is a perfect spot if you want to relax and calm down in a surrounding full of flowers and sounds of nature, with cute dogs chilling in the sun and ready to keep you company. I loved every moment of being in El Zumbito so much that we extended our stay from 3 to 5 nights. The owners take a good care of the place - it is spotless and has everything you may need - it feels they want to make your experience the best possible. Keep in mind El Zumbito is located at the end of the town, which makes the surrounding quiet and relaxing but it also means you need to walk about 20 minutes to the bigger shops or restaurants. It’s a pleasant walk though so you don’t necessarily need a car. Also the house is just next to the entrance to the best trail in the whole area - La India Dormida so you can reach the summit very quickly for a sunrise experience. I’ll definitely come back if I’m ever in Valle de Anton again!

Soaking in the thermal pool in the morning was great. The grounds were big and spacious and peaceful. We could walk to town, or very close, around the corner was a small store for snacks. My sister loved the covered kitchen and outdoor eating/sitting area for breakfast in the morning.
