Portland is a walkable city. Too many wonderful restaurants for one trip!
My favorites from this trip: Fore Street Restaurant, Honey Paw, and Jing Yan. My husband loved Bar Futo and the bar at Via Vecchia.

We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine.
We live in Massachusetts, but we love visiting Maine. We usually stop at the Kittery Trading Post along our drive. In Portland we like to take in historical homes and sites like the Victorian Mansion or the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow home. There are lots of restaurants and pubs in the waterfront area. One of our favorites is the Ri' Ra' where I typically enjoy a Guinness with the fish and chips.

My work in Portland shows me a diverse striving community that is trying to care for its citizens. That diversity is revealed through exploring the shops underneath and around the "Hopeful" sculpture/sign on Forest Ave.

Best seafood ever.
Best seafood ever. Very nice restaurants and bars and excellent, friendly service in all places. Nice little interior or similar shops. Some more or less interesting galleries, interesting Arts Museum. But two full days are enough for visiting downtown Portland.
Lovely hiking trails at about 30 minutes from the town.
Rachel is an excellent host and was there to answer our questions right away. The apartment was just as described and as you see it in the pictures. It is comfortable. It's in a GREAT location for downtown Portland. Convenient to some excellent bars, restaurants and cool stores and very close to the Regency Hotel which has an excellent spa and the waterfront. The interior is cool and funky and the appliances are top notch. The beds are comfortable and the living room is perfect for hanging after a long day of dining and touring.
The location was great - just a short walk to the center of Portland. Room and bathroom were clean and the bed comfortable. My room faced the back, so I didn't hear any traffic noise. As a light sleeper I consider this an important point. The staff was polite and helpful and suggested good places to eat.
There is no restaurant, but a few steps away is a good Mediterranean (Greek, Lebanese) place. The downtown area, full of restaurants and cafés, is within walking distance. I really recommend this hotel.
The front entrance of the hotel was a bit difficult to find. No breakfast or a complimentary snack/drink. The room and walkway had a mold smell. The bedding was a bit dirty. The vending machine was out of order and it appeared that there was only one vending machine. The location was a bit further out of downtown Portland for the price. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was not good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Always a great place to stay. Decently priced, not a far drive into Portland or to South Portland, and love the restaurant/bar that's right in the hotel - the food is always delicious and the staff are great! Also love that it's pet friendly and they have patio rooms on the first floor that make having a pet there so convienent!
To overnight, the hotel is perfect! It is near the Concord Coach Lines terminal serving Boston with Amtrak service. Easy acess to Portland's airport. The hotel is also ideal for a longer stay: easy bus to downtown or 20 walking. Very kind and helpful staff ! Good cost-benefit !
The room was lovely and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful and we loved all the original artwork everywhere and comfortable atmosphere. It was a perfect location for a night in Portland's Old Port.
The room was HUGE!!! We got in much later than planned, the staff was so very nice and helpful! We had hoped to see much more of Portland than we did, the hotel location is GREAT! a very easy walk into downtown and to the bay.
This is a great location in Portland, and we were able to walk or bike from the hotel without issue. The neighbourhood was great, people were friendly and it felt very safe.
The Hotel is located in the middle of all the shops and restaurants in Old Port. It was clean, and the room was modern and pleasant. We had a great time exploring the area!
The hotel was near the airport with free shuttle service to the airport and downtown Portland. The hotel was quiet and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Very convenient for downtown Portland, nice courtyard with fire pit. Good bar area with restaurant. I liked the complimentary coffee/tea and snack station.
