Excellent location, comfortable room and the food was fine. Limited evening menu-sensible; Good selection at breakfast despite a coach party eating before us. And we had been informed of this fact.

There are several historic sights in the Old Town starting with the beautiful train station. The Cathedral and Basilica are worth visiting. The long street of eateries had a wide variety to choose from due to the high student population. I was in the mood for Asian food and I found a Malaysian restaurant. But there were classical French restaurants and many other choices too. There's also a lovely place to sit and drink something on the Loire.

Relaxing town, but also very vibrant in the evening and at night. Has a lot of niche restaurants in and around different areas of the town.
Fairly easy to navigate around the town, can always join a few tours that are available that show parts of the town you otherwise wouldnt have seen. Worst part of travelling is the ticket system, we got stuck on the other side of tours as we only got a one way ticket on the bus and they didnt have ticket machines at the bus stops away from the main ones. They should really change it to contactless.
Botanical gardens was a pleasant experience, worth a visit at least once. A lot of gorgeous towns just outside of tours that are also worth checking out, Amboise being one of them. Has a beautiful chateaux and Da Vinci manor/gardens that are a must see.

Tours is a nice walkable city.
Tours is a nice walkable city. The 'old town' is picturesque and the more modern side has lots of shops. Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. There are lots of tourist attractions including gthe cathedral of course. Also there is a large tourist office with helpful staff to help organise day trips to Chateaus etc. Transport links are very good with a station close to the city centre.

It was very easy to find the hotel, even though it was in the middle of the city. The hotel sent directions in advance of adjacent underground parking which was a real help.
We recommend La Plume Blanche in the Place Plumereau

Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out...
Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out along the Loire river. The trams and busses are easy enough to figure out. The brochures describe the 'gastronomic' experience that awaits, but that must apparently be researched and booked in advance. Strolling around the old medieval streets without a booking, we found more kebab shops and bars than gourmet restaurants, but perhaps we were in the wrong place.
we stayed one night during our road trip south and the hotel is excellent for that purpose. it is located outside the city centre so access from the motorway is quick, it has a covered parking which is cheap (5 EUR) and there are several good restaurants right outside the hotel. in the morning there is a nearby bakery and cheaper petrol station and a supermarket. rooms are clean, wifi is good, bathrooms are new. staff was friendly and quickly swapped one of our rooms on request.
The staff (all of whom spoke reasonably good English) were extremely helpful. My overall impression of this secluded hotel was of an up-market motel rather than the "flowery castle" I had perhaps expected. Free on-site locked parking was a bonus, and the part of Tours one wanted to see (and in which most of the restaurants are situated) was a nice, fairly short walk away on the other side of the river. Breakfast was excellent - the best we came across on this trip.
Everything! The proprietors were charming, the hotel decor tasteful, and the location was on point. You are steps away from a street with a multitude of restaurant options offering outside seating, a grocery store and Laundromat. The hotel can easily be reached from the train station on foot. I wholeheartedly recommend making the Hotel du Cygne your primary location, and opt to easily day trip to the neighboring Chateaux by train. They also welcome dogs.
this is on par with 5 star luxury hotels. the room is massive, spotless, gorgeous decor and wonderful linens, the location is central, and there is nothing that could be improved. great for solo travelers or couples. what a value, she could charge twice the price and it would still be a steal. I am serious when I say that you could just visit this b&b and it alone would be a fabulous experience.
Location was great with parking just underneath the hotel. The room was very clean and had a seal on the door which gave us additional peace of mind. Beds were very comfy including the sofa bed our child used. Staff were very friendly and efficient, speaking a number of languages.
Excellent location right outside the train station. Superb view of the wonderful train station from the hotel room's window. It was the best hotel in our entire trip to France. We had a room for 3 and the third bed was placed in a mini separate room which provided more privacy.
Perfect for a city break, this hotel is close to streets that are full of life and some of best rated restaurants in town. It’s walking distance from the cathedral and the Loire. If you have bikes, as we did, you are able to store them in the hotel‘s locked garage.
Its location is the best of all, just in front of the train station and 20 minutes walking from the center of Tours. We picked up the cheapest room, in the 1st floor, and it was smaller than I thought. Overall it is worth it for the price.
The owners and team are beyond nice and helpful. They are very helpful and attentive to every need. The entire place has a touch and feeling that hotels cannot match. Everybody is greeted and treated with high respect and attention.
So tired and so great to just see the hotel from the gare!! Friendly service when first room was not what was requested and immediately replaced. Very clean. Well insulated windows looking over bus/gare. Quiet at night.
Perfect location across from Les Halles and easy walk to the old quarter. Many fine restaurants nearby. Unit was charming and well equipped. Ideal for a couple. Comfy bed too. Best place we stayed in France.
Eric was the most amazing host! I'm a handicapped and Eric switched me to a room on the main floor so I could be more comfortable (since the hotel doesn't have an elevator.)
Thanks for everything Eric! 😁
The hotel is new, room & bathroom are spacious, modern and clean. Staff are friendly, helpful & thoughtful.
Location is near the Centre ville.
Will come back again to Tours and stay at Les Tresorieres.
