Really good price. As hotel guest Half price off Burger king at the services.
Nice water pressure in the shower, however grout was mouldy and the shower curtain was smelly.
Very large and well lit room.

Bharat and Anne are excellent hosts; Friendly and welcoming but respectful of our privacy. We were provided with a list of recommended restaurants and taxi services before our arrival. We sampled a couple of the restaurants and they did not disappoint. The room was very comfortable and a good size with a bath and shower ensuite, all spotlessly clean and the breakfast was superb - thanks Bharat! The location was great for us, just outside the town but it was a fairly steep hill back to Torlands, so book a taxi in advance if you don't fancy a walk. They have a lovely living room area with patio doors leading to an outdoor seating area, all on the first floor to make the most of the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we revisit Monmouth. Many thanks, Bharat and Ann.

We arrived too late for a shopping trip through the town but it looked interesting enough to make another trip during the day. We had an inside meal in the Chippy by the gateway into the town and it was very good. I think that it would be an interesting town to explore and there is the river to check out as well. It looks like you can even park in the town which must be a rare bonus. We would have liked to see some of the historic sites but sadly we were basically only staying overnight.

Monmouth is a lovely town with lots of shops, market, places to eat and theatres. We stayed to go to the theatre and had an excellent evening show with Alfie Moore. There are excellent butcher shops and M&as food . There are lovely riverside walks and further afield the Forest of Dean to explore.

Monmouth itself is very pretty and quite touristy. We didn't spend too much time there but explored the countryside and villages around. We went to Symonds Yat, Tintern Abbey, Chepstow and a couple of castles. What a beautiful area. This area is also quite food-y. In fact the small restaurant we used on our first evening had a Michelin star - how lucky was that?

There isn't much to do here, but the point of our trip is always the same, so we do get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
People are so friendly and helpful. The only place I know where around 80% of the population say good morning, and acknowledge you.
Two definite recommendations - if going in August head to Harts (fantastically discounted bras and swimwear for the ladies), and don't leave without going to Coffee Lab. Superb!

Monmouth is a lovely small town, with an excellent array of shops, including many small specialised enterprises, some interesting historic buildings, beautiful countryside around and also very friendly people. There is plenty to do and see in the town and it is a great centre for visiting cities such as Cardiff, Hereford, Cheltenham and Bristol. Not far from Monmouth is Symonds Yat, on the border between England and Wales, and some fantastic border castles such as Goodrich, Skenfrith and the White Castle. Road links too are very good.
Stuart, our host, was very welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and the room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. The hotel is just a short walk from the town centre and there is a supermarket close by. It is easy to get to, parking was onsite and although situated next to a main road, the rooms are so well insulated we could hear no traffic noise at all! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it as a base to Monmouth and the Wye Valley.
From the moment we arrived we knew we were going to enjoy our stay at The Punch House. Tash & her team are exceptional. Everyone was friendly & helpful throughout & our room was superb. Spotlessly clean & so comfortable & with a nice view out to the Shire Hall & Square. The location is ideal & Monmouth is a great base for exploring the area. Thankyou to all for making our visit so enjoyable.
John's Lookout was the perfect property for our stay in Monmouth. The location was perfect - a few minutes walk into the town and very easily accessible to get onto the motorway. The view was absolutely amazing and the neighbourhood was quiet. The actual house was a home away from home with all the modern amenities and very nice finishes complete with outdoor entertainment area.
Absolutely lovely place to stay. Wonderful hosts, big room with huge en-suite and comfy bed. Was only there for one night, but would return in a heartbeat! Missed breakfast as had to make an early start, but it smelt and looked amazing.
Much better than a mainstream hotel. A great find. Well done folks!!
This hotel is ideally situated for both. Monmouth and Forest of Dean . Parking available , bars open in the evening and facilities for ordering take away . Watching final of ladies football in company was great.
Good breakfast. Very clean room and modern bathroom
Ideal for 1 / 2 nights stay
Breakfast was self-catering which was ideal for me since I don't like fitting with hotel timetables and don't always want a huge cooked meal. Bread, butter, milk and coffee were provided in the annex, along with excellent jams. Refills were no problem for the hosts. The room was very quiet.
Staff were friendly and accommodating, hotel had a nice bar with good selection of drinks and reasonable prices ,in walking distance to town just over the bridge ,breakfast was hot ,fresh and good choices ,room basic but comfortable would stay again
We loved this pub stay, amazing find in the heart of Monmouth, Vickie (especially) & her lovely team made our anniversary stay extra special, so friendly & welcoming & can’t do enough for you, highly recommend a stay here, we’ll be back soon!
Great central location for the town - everything in easy walking distance. Lovely breakfast, welcoming staff. Comfortable room.
Recommend Mokos if you like Mexican - 5 minute walk from the hotel - great food and friendly staff.
Neil was so friendly and interesting. The place is full of history and character and if you're looking to stay somewhere other than a typical hotel, then this place is for you. Original fireplaces from the 16th century. Amazing!
Great location. Polite friendly staff.
Long stay car park 10 min walk away, great price. Great drinks and food prices, free coffee, and tea. Spacious and clean hotel, nice town, lovely, will.return.
Lovely atmosphere, kind and attentive staff and excellent standard of decor. We loved the food in the bistro, too. We'd come back to Monmouth just to come back here. That good!
