Beautiful location on the river, the bungalows are very nice as well. The pool was great! Food is good with many vegetarian opties and not to expensive. Staff is very friendly. We have had a really good stay
I really wanted to like Rio Dulce. It turned out to be only a hub for boat and bus travel for me. Having spent two months in Guatemala by the time I got there, I was not surprised by the poverty or conditions. That said, I didn’t find much other than the castle to be places I wanted to see more of. It was very hot and humid in early July.

Beautiful remote location with many jungle lodges (from super remote to more public) along the river. Great jungle hikes, caves, kayaking with plenty of nature and wildlife. Definitely a required stop when visiting Guatemala, will visit again!
We had a great 3 nights stay at Boatique. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms clean and simple. The surroundings are the reason for coming. Nature everywhere you look. The jungle at night is special. The staff were great and helped us with any queries or bookings we needed. You can do boat trips and activities or just relax. The pool was lovely. Everything we ate was delicious and the menu was varied. We would stay again.
very eco friendly place, but still comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We took a mini tour boat around the lake (independent vender, but reception staff have contact numbers), did a Kayak tour at 5:30 am in which we saw some hauling monkeys, and they have a nice hiking trWe did not eat in the hotel restaurant so can’t weigh in on that.
Booked 2 nights and stayed 4! The hotel was just what I was expecting, very relaxing and loads of activities to choose from every day. The food was fresh and delicious, and the staff was kinda and extremely helpful! We were worried about the heat, but the evenings were cool and the fans helped. Thank you to Tim, Alejandra, and the rest of the crew!
The hotel has a nice rustic vibe but the room felt clean. The restaurant has nice options, the home made bagels were delicious and the restaurant hostess was very friendly and nice. I would love to come back and stay a couple of days (just me and my wife) kids might get bored on a longer stay.
We got a room not facing the street (i.e. #3), and it was one of the best nights of sleep we had in 5 weeks in Guatemala. AC, wifi in the room, very comfortable bed and pillows (way above Guatemala standard) and a great shower. The cafe is also fantastic with delicious breakfast for Q20-Q30.
Really nice hotel restaurant in the middle of the jungle at Rio dulce, only 10 min from the port and you feeling so good and so peaceful, lovely location, great food and especially really good staff, so friendly, nice family owned place, really recommend :)
Gracias por todo

No breakfast included so we always went to the back shop for coffee only. I thought it would be included considering the price and the custom of breakfast included in most Guatemalan accommodation
It was a great pool and overall the staff tried to do their best
Great Location. The rooms/cottages are in the middle of mangroves with direct access to the river. Very nice pool and extremely tasty restaurant. The public river bus and of course private river cab stops right at the hotel. What else could you ask for.
Great place to unwind for a few days, you are in middle of a lake with no roads! be prepared to stay at hotel a lot of the time, staff only speak Spanish but I liked this as I’m trying to learn Spanish (use it as an opportunity to learn)
Wonderful location! We enjoyed this uniquely located hotel with its minimalist accommodation
and back-to-nature feel. Loved the kayaking, paddle boarding, and the kind and helpful staff!
Food was delicious!
Situated right on the water, this hotel offered a beautiful restaurant, hammocks to relax in, and the breeze off the water was wonderful. The room was very clean, the shower had good hot water and pressure.
Liesel was awesome and communicative. The food was outstanding (did a 4 course dinner with wine pairing), and the whole vibe of the hotel was relaxed and modern while still being an eco lodge.
The quietness of the location in the jungle at the edge of the mangroves was excellent. With the canoes we could easily go to the hotels dock for wonderful swims.
This was a great spot in the river . They taxied us to the hotel by boat . The food was excellent . The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome .
