A warm and courteous welcome awaits travellers to the Maykenn Beach Resort. The food is exceptional, on a three night stay my wife and I were served freshly prepared evening meals not only based on local cuisine but also that of Thailand, China, Italy and even Sweden ! Breakfasts were also of a high standard again providing a wide range of options. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with quality bathroom fittings and a good shower. The private beach is kept pristine by daily beach combing, although it has to be said that early in the year the adjacent coastline suffers from seaweed and plastic debris brought in by the prevailing currents. At low tide the extensive tidal lagoons and sand bars provide for a great recreation, just strolling in crystal clear warm waters through meadows of sea grass, looking for exotic sea shells or watching the antics of the tiny blue sand crabs. If you are looking for a small quiet “out of town” retreat on Bantayan, with friendly staff look no further than the Maykenn Beach Resort. PS for a whistle stop tour of other delights on Bantayan the road tour is not to be missed.

El apartamento de dos pisos es tal y como se muestra en las fotos. Un salón enorme, dos habitaciones amplias de camas cómodas, con ventilador de techo y aire acondicionado. La cocina está correcta, los utensilios algo gastados, pero suficiente. El entorno es inmejorable. La escalerita al mar justo delante de la habitación es perfecta para darse un baño todas las mañanas. La mejor playa de la isla está a 5 minutos en moto (Sandira beach) y Santa Fe, con todos los restaurantes y tiendecitas está a 8 minutos en moto. Volveríamos sin dudarlo.

The apartment is beautiful and clean: separate bedroom, living room and small equipped kitchen. Next to beach and cave, and within walking distance or short 3 wheeler ride from market. The couple who owns the villa made us feel welcome and at home there.

Darren is such a great host. He told me everything about the island and where to eat good food outside. Moreover the paradise beach is just 10 min away by walk. You can rent also a scooter for affordable price. When you check out he drops you off by a free ride. If I come again I will book for sure in his place.
