Absolutely gorgeous jungle setting not far from Nauyaca Waterfalls! The breakfast was yummy but we were surprised to find out it wasnt included in the price of the lodging which wasnt cheap. We learned if you stay in the apartments breakfast is included and the pool is close but we had to pay and walk a ways to and from our rustic secluded Casa Romantica. A little warm; no a/c and the internet didnt work up there. The staff were attentive and helpful and put a lot of care into the meal and cleanliness of communal areas.

Terrific reception and attention to all details by both Anja the manageress and Wendy the housekeeper. Kind, helpful & always very polite. The bungalow was a delight to live in for 4 days at the end of November 2023! We spent lovely days down on the coast, and up at the waterfalls. A delightfully restful and perfect part of our two week vacation. Highly recommended!!

The tents are a really nice idea and you can see and hear different animals directly from the porch.
The owners were very friendly and the dinner was delicious (book in advance).

Very big and comfortable home for overnight, close to the waterfall (few minutes drive), so you can be among the 1st visitors there. Close to the road, which was convenient as met up with family, but didn't seem noisy.
We enjoyed our time in Platanillo. It was conveniently located for us and we could make it to the area beaches in under an hour. We also spend some time driving north into the mountains. The Costa Ricans are friendly and helpful. Getting around parts of Costa Rica requires 4X4 drive. We loved the views from elevation and the gorgeous beaches. We were surprised by how calm the water was on our fishing/ whale watching trip.

So close to Dominical, but far away from the noise and crowds down there. There are some terrific places to visit very nearby, including: Rana Roja - a beautiful spot for breakfast or lunch (they raise their own tilapia) and very cool hike to a swimming hole and/or waterfall with beautiful, tiny red poison dart frogs; Eco Chantales waterfalls - just google it and go - it’s a wonderful place; Nuayuca Falls, a long-time visitor favorite on the Southern Pacific; San Isidro del General - a bustling city that serves as the primary commercial heart of the South; and much more.
