The Feathers, hotel in Bishop Wilton

Situated in Pocklington, 23 km from York Minster, The Feathers features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. This 2-star hotel offers luggage storage space and free WiFi.

Bang on for The Feathers. I was a little surprised to be allocated a chalet at the back of the carpark, but, BUT it was spot on, big and spacious with the best shower I've had in ages., cudos to the plumber. The bar prices were VERY reasonable, nearly as cheap as my local WMC and the grub (evening meal + brekky - self serve) was spot on too. 10/10 for The Feathers.

Beautiful Holiday Home - Lake view, hotel in Bishop Wilton

A recently renovated holiday home situated in York, Beautiful Holiday Home - Lake view features a garden. This property offers access to a balcony, free private parking and free WiFi.

The property was well maintained and clean with gorgeous views of the lake from the livingroom window. York was only 25 minutes away and was a short drive to local pubs and shops for filling the fridge. The hot tub was amazing! We travelled with our 10 month old daughter & Lisa was able to set up a travel cot in the 3rd bedroom which was really appreciated for our stay.

Incredibly clean, great self-catering facilities and the glamping pod was very warm and cosy. I would happily stay here again, both as a solo traveller and as a couple. Great to know that Seaways is also dog friendly!

Buses to other locations. Great cycling area. Pretty scenery. Shop, pub and village hall with events. Friendly local people with advice about locality. Super village walks.Food at the Fleece is excellent cuisine. Great beers too. A beautiful black and white mosaic floor in the church based on a copied design in the Vatican in Rome. Stunning and unique floor showing many bird pictures. The hilly Wolds around the village are beautiful and invite walks up and down the locality. Roman, Viking and Anglo Saxon settlements have been evidenced in this area.

Bishop Wilton is a quiet, small picturesque village in the North Yorkshire Wolds with pretty cottages built on both sides of a stram which runs through it.The Fleece Inn has good food and drink and the hosts are very welcoming. The comminity shop in the village is run by volunteers and is well stocked with food stuffs, gifts and also has a cafe. The area is ideal for walkers and people who love the countryside but is also lovely for touring about the Wolds by car as there are many villages off the beaten track to investigate and the main place nearby is Pocklington which has more shops, cafe's and pubs.

We stopped in Bishop Wilton as an alternative to stopping in the city centre. Having previously stopped in the city centre, the 30 minute drive to Bishop Wilton was well worth it for the peace and tranquillity at night.
