The staff were just off the scale friendly and welcoming. Experiences like this are why independents can be so great. Handwritten welcome note and cake in the room! Excellent food too, a lovely venue, good car parking, and a ridiculously good value price. Wish it had been more than a flying visit on business

We were walking the SW Coast Path, so we were quite tired and sore. The spa tub (w/ plenty of hot water) was fantastic.

Wonderfully comfortable and cosy bed. The campsite showers run nice and hot and there’s lovely walking to Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

There is so much to do in Bridport.
There is so much to do in Bridport. There are many pubs and restaurants and events. There is even a street market twice a week and a good variety of shops. Everything is within walking distance or you can take a bus. The beach is less than 2 miles away. Lots of hotels. Many charity shops. Very safe and friendly with narrow streets and oldie worldly charm and architecture. Good night life with theatre and music events to attract all ages. Good surrounding countryside for walks and pub meals. There is even a guided walk round the brewery.

Bridport is a great town with super individual shops, plus usual high St names. Great waitrose. Market days really good. Courtyard cafe excellent for breakfast. Rope makers arms pub great beer and atmosphere.

There are so many places of interest both in and around...
There are so many places of interest both in and around Bridport. In the town itself there are plenty of places to both eat and drink. The buses take you to most of the surrounding places both big and small. But there are also very reasonable taxi services. Walking around Bridport is a joy as there are so many things to see and it has an interesting history. I can't think of any places I'd avoid.AAnonymous - 10Scored 10
Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport.
Our stay was in West Bay just over a mile from Bridport. West Bay offers several choices of restaurant each offering local sea food. With its picturesque harbour there is plenty to see and do. From deep sea fishing trips to catching crabs or small fish around the harbour and pier. The cliff walks are spectacular as are the walks along the coastal paths.There are swimming pools in and around West Bay along with squash, badminton, tennis and table tennis facilities.

Great choice of pubs and restaurants in town, any staff I encountered were excellent. There’s a cinema, museum and plenty of independent shops for wet days. Decent bus service too to other places including Weymouth, Dorchester, Lyme Regis and Axminster.

Bridport is a nice little town with friendly people. We like micro-brewery beer and there is a nice brewery in Bridport that gives great tours. We really wanted to visit West Bay and that was close and very nice. The whole area is very scenic.JulieCanada

Very comfortable and it was great to have the space to relax, especially as we had been travelling and staying in much smaller rooms prior. Friendly owners who gave us a good head's up about parking along the street. Didn't have an issue with parking, although it did get crowded, and the road is a bit steep (we walked up it only once during our stay), but there are quite a number of steep hills around Bridport so isn't out of the ordinary.AngelaUnited States of America

Sue was lovely and welcoming as was her husband. It is so private and peaceful all you see is goats,chickens and ducks and occasionally, Sue feeding them. Bridport and West Bay is a only about 15-20 mins drive. Perfect for getting away from it all and relaxing. Will definitely go back but for a whole week next time. Thank you Sue we loved it.

My partner and I were the youngest people staying there which was kinda funny. But it was so lovely there, and comfortable. All the staff were extremely friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfasts were all great and I do wish we could’ve had it on our last day but our train was early in the morning. I will definitely stay at this place again if we do go back to Dorset!!

I suppose that some might find the Edwardian décor a bit dated but I found the hotel really comfortable, cosy and peaceful. They obviously do food on-site and the breakfasts were really nice, but as a side note, it's also worth pointing out that West Bay has some really nice places to eat and Bridport is very close by.
