Outstanding hotel - genuinely friendly check in staff, extremely clean, relaxing. Lots of lovely touches in the hotel, very well run. Great location for exploring Limerick city and area, only 15 mins drive away.
Quiet, lots of parking, EV charging (yay!), extremely clean leisure centre and small pool. Absolutely LOVED the thermal suite and spotless outdoor hot tub. Id return for a longer break. Oh and excellent breakfast with lots of wrapped Gluten Free options so essential for Coeliac guests. The on site wetland walk to the open farm was really lovely.
It says a lot that both my 16 year and and myself both want to return. And I thought it very positive that one of the staff who had an intellectual disability was treated with courtesy and genuine friendliness from her colleagues - as a family member has the same I'm sensitive to this and it says a lot about good management and staff when you see that. Well done to all the staff here - don't change!!!

FAQs about hotels in Limerick
On average, 3-star hotels in Limerick cost £122 per night, and 4-star hotels in Limerick are £146 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Limerick can on average be found for £189 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
Limerick revels in one of Ireland’s most iconic views – the River Shannon curving past King John’s Castle, a 12th-century fortress that could have come straight from a Grimm fairytale. Frank McCourt wrote ‘Angela’s Ashes’ about his childhood here, and his former school is a museum about him, set amid elegant Georgian architecture in the Newtown Pery district. Equally attractive is the custom house, now housing the Hunt Museum's eclectic collection of art and artefacts.
The 12th-century St Mary’s Anglican Cathedral is the city’s oldest building used daily, while St John’s Catholic Cathedral has Ireland’s tallest spire. The coexistence of the two is symbolic of the 17th-century accord between Jacobites and Williamites, supposedly signed on the Treaty Stone.
The Milk Market is a bustling hub of local produce sellers, and the shops of pedestrian Cruises Street are surrounded by restaurants and bars offering great nightlife, including some where you can jig to traditional Irish folk tunes.
The city is also sports mad. Munster Rugby play in Thomond Park, while the Gaelic Grounds ring with the sounds of hurling and Gaelic football supporters. Golf courses, a racecourse and greyhound stadium complete the picture.
Booking.com’s Limerick accommodation includes luxury hotels with spas and swimming pools, and cheap apartments near Shannon Airport.

Limerick is a really friendly city. There are loads of lovely places to eat at reasonable prices. Nice shops. Pretty castle. Loads of parking places. Milk market at the weekends is a nice place to go for a couple of hours. Lovely churches too. The story cafe is a super place for breakfast or lunch.

Surprising to discover the extensive number of fine residential roads into city centre with beautiful old properties. Lovely quayside for strolling and a great choice of cafes and restaurants. Very satisfied with all our choices.
Didn't see everything Limerick has to offer so would be willing to return again.

Limerick isn’t what I expected… it’s much nicer.
Limerick isn’t what I expected… it’s much nicer. The people are friendly and welcoming in most areas. Some areas are a little scary and wouldn’t like to be on my own but overall the city itself has a great buzz. Great restaurant options and copious amounts of coffee shops. Cool and trendy with traditional areas too.

We booked a king room.
We booked a king room. Unexpectedly, our room was actually a suite. We were presently surprised, and it was large enough to entertain our other couple who traveled with us. The one downside: we were on the front of the hotel, overlooking the street, and it was very noisy at night. The A/C didnt work in the hotel and we were on the 7th floor, so we slept with the windows opened. We were offered another fan, but declined, as the daytime temperature was comfortable with opened windows.

Limerick is a lovely city to visit with nice river walks by the Shannon. There are lots of places to visit in County Limerick, Adare, Lough Gur and Grange Stone Circle all a short drive from the city.
The location was good, just a 15 minute walk to the city centre. The staff were amazing. The restaurant/bar attached to the hotel seemed to be a pretty popular place with the locals so it was a great place to have a pint. This also meant the staff were working extra to service both areas but they were still very attentive and extremely helpful while it was busy. Shoutout specifically to Alex, he went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and provided excellent service right from the check in :)
Absolute Hotel is well managed and well maintained. Our room is spacious and very comfortable for a 7-night stay. We originally did not book any breakfast, because we learn from past experience that it's better try first before making commitment to it. But after the first full breakfast, we were so impressed that we had breakfast there every morning in the hotel. The location is great, very quiet and not far from the city centre.
This is a university dormitory organized as 6 single rooms with private bathrooms and a common kitchen, kitchen table, and sitting area.It is essentially a youth hostel, although I am actually pretty old. It is a superb value for the cost. The University of Limerick campus is gorgeous. The facility has bikes you can borrow, and there is a nice path along the river that brings you to Limerick city in 20 minutes.
I was looking for a simple hotel and was ready to settle for anything, as long as that was in the heart of Limerick City. But the Old Quarter Townhouse is much more than a simple hotel: its location is beautiful, the girls from the staff very friendly and helpful, the room very clean and well taken care of. I am going to recommend the hotel to anyone I know will be staying in Limerick.
Great position, room very big and quiet for a good sleep.
The check in was fast and the staff very kind and professional.
Having a bar and a restaurant inside the hotel and a multistories parking just outside was a huge plus, especially when it rains and you're late for dinner!
I will definitely stay at Limerick City Hotel again the next time in Dublin!
Situated in Limerick City this hotel is within easy walking distances of restaurants, pubs and attractions. Our room on the 6th floor was large and well appointed with a good sized bathroom with bath and separate shower. Breakfast was well presented with a good and varied selection all cooked freshly to order and the staff were friendly and informative.
Rooms were large and quiet, comfortable beds and good bathrooms. Pool and sauna etc were very good and well maintained. Dinner in the hotel was good and there is a nice bar as well to spend the day in if you have been driving. The river view is lovely and it is in the city so good for exploring the city through walks etc if you are staying the night.
The host was great. We were also welcomed and visited often by the four-legged host, Derry the Shetland Sheepdog. As we had to leave our own dogs at home while we are visiting Ireland, Derry was a loving reminder of our loving family at home. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Lovely place and people. Beautiful modern Cabin.
Excellent service from checkin to checkout, very charming, comfortable hotel. Lovely dinner (with a wonderful guitarist serenading us!!). Easy to get to and from Shannon Airport. Loved going to this hotel and this town, a little off the beaten track, but well worth visiting if you want to see the real Ireland-can't wait to return!!
The hotel is on a street with no car traffic and was full of shops and restaurants. It was convenient to walk from the hotel to most sites in the city. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is adjacent to a restaurant which is where the check in desk is. Breakfast is at the restaurant and it was very good.
The Staff especially in The Off The Bone gastro pub were friendly and efficient. We felt very safe there and enjoyed watching the Ireland v All Blacks game. We visit limerick regularly and this is our Hotel of choice.
I spent a few days here wile working in limerick. The hotel is situated in a quiet area with easy access to the center of Limerick (by car). The room was very comfortable and spacious. Very nice service.
Spacious and comfortable rooms, soft beds, and perfect location! This hotel was incredible and affordable. I highly recommend considering staying here on your trip to Limerick!
Excellent car parking, great location in the city centre. Dinner/drinks in the hotel restaurant were also delicious, would be happy to stay again next time in Limerick.
Lovely staff, clean room, cannot really get much closer to the city center than here. Breakfast was also excellent. Overall a nice clean accommodating place to stay.
This place was amazing! Staff was so helpful and our room was great! The location was amazing! Limerick and this hotel is for sure a hidden gem in Ireland.
