We found Amritara Riverside Luxury Tents a great option at Thattekad for a 1 night stay. The tents are well furnished - including AC, good furniture, nice interiors. The well-maintained tents we stayed in offered a great river view. The staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful & responsive. Some games were present - like Archery, Carroms, other board games, and lots of cycles were also available. Great place to stay for a bird watcher & people who love nature. Food options at the property even though healthy & simple, felt a bit underwhelming for us; perhaps due to our visit during the off-season (Apr-Sept). Also note that - some days when water levels are low, kayaking won't be possible; so if you are an enthusiast, it's best to check beforehand. Overall - the property has great staff who ensure guests are looked after well & is well maintained.

Its a private house with few rooms to rent upstairs. Bed was very comfortable. WiFi worked. All looked clean. Towel and soap provided, like it should be. Drinking water provided on request. Inverter battery for power cuts - however you cant charge anything anyway from the sockets during the blackouts.

Lovely for a 2 night stay. Beautiful garden with verandah restaurant by the river. Large bedrooms and large bathrooms with air conditioning and fridges in room. BYO to enjoy a drink on the veranda outside your room. Large pool. Nice food. Management very reactive. A good place from which to visit the Thattekad Bird Sanctuary - only one visit a day at 7am, limited to 20 people divided into small groups with good guides.
