It's a perfect location if you're looking for something close to the airport as the stairs for the metro that takes you to the airport are literally right next to the building and it's only one stop away. In the other direction (also one stop away) is Hakata station if you need to grab the Shinkansen or was somewhere centralized to start from. This is a "Festival-Town". They love Festivals and every 2-3 months they have some feasts :)
I could enjoy throughout the "Golden Week" on the 3-4th of May 2024 the Parade on the streets. It was really colorful and culturally interesting for a European. :)
The Old Town is a must see! :)

Fukuoka is an entry point to Kyushu with an international airport and a port. It has lots of attractions that can easily be reached by train and subway. Fukuoka has excellent dining, shopping, some great gardens, and if you are a student then visiting Daizumi shrine is a must. It is a shrine dedicated to the success of students in their studies.

Nice city.
Nice city. I'm a bit surprise that it's not overcrowded like another big cities in Japan that I've been to. Might not be the best place for shopping but it's about right to me. It's more local Japan to me. I see very few English signs. There are some nice attractions but I wouldn't plan a week long trip with just Fukuoka. There are other cities and attractions in Kyushu that should also be in the plan. You don't really need a car in Fukuoka. It's well covered by public transport but for Kyushu in general it'll help considerably if you like to drive though.
If I'd plan again, I wouldn't drive the whole trip outside Fukuoka. I rather drive in some areas and travel between big cities with train. It make more sense and can cover more areas and attractions.

Loved Fukuoka, it's an underrated city. As long as you're not looking for a city like Kyoto with lots of traditional Japan, you'll find it to be a lively city with lots to do! The yatai's are a great way to experience food in Fukuoka!

Don't say you are a Japan fan if you never been to Fukuoka.
Don't say you are a Japan fan if you never been to Fukuoka. I have visited over 10 times, this is my top-pick city as well as many traveller's ideal choice in Japan. Try to prove my words by planning to this city for your next trip!
We liked many aspects of GRAND BASE Haruyoshi. The room was spacious, much more than usual for Japanese hotels, particularly at this price point. We also appreciated the living room, kitchen, cooking utensils, and laundry machine. The ample electricity outlets were a great convenience. The hotel's location was a major highlight - it's ideally positioned in the city center, a short 15-minute walk to Hakata station, and just a 5-minute walk to Canal City, with a plethora of restaurants and convenience stores nearby.
Great value for money hotel opposite from the Canel City Hakata shopping mall which is massive. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean and comfortable and definitely exceeded expectations. Very centrally located in the Gionmachi area and about a short 7min walk from the main JR Hakata Station or Gion local train station if coming via Fukuoka airport.
The rooms were relatively spacious and very clean. Equipped with fridge and mini bar
Staff were all extremely nice as well. Would recommend
Location- right nexdooor to airport sybway line ( exit 4). In the middle of Hakata Station ( shopping & JR line) and airport. Both just 5mins away and 1 stop - amazing! Sunny Grocery store just behind hotel., Room was good for Japanesestandsrds, breakfast was tasty but small area-very busy from 7-8am( hard to find seat etc). Front of staff eager to help but many things lost in translation. Amenities like washing machines, ice machine, microwave are on level 2 which is handy.
My friend was flying down from New York City, JFK AirPort when her flight was badly delayed and couldn’t make it in time. The front office staffs are always so accommodative, understanding and supportive! Told us to get in touch with Agoda and they will Not Charge us for it. So beautiful and kind!
Unlike the disgusting and disgraceful Marriott Hotel Surawongse’s team in Thailand! Mean and egotistical staffs. They’ll never come close to the lovely Japanese hospitality.
Booked room was a very tall! Clean and spacious. The hotel very close to Tenjin and Nakasu - the famous districts for the Yatai culture (so called food stalls). The room was western style designed. There was no breakfast included. Your pets are allowed for this hotel!
The checkin and -out was simply done at the reception via self checkout machine. I liked the short stay there and I will definitely pay a visit again at ALFACIO RIVERSIDE STAY HAKATA in Fukuoka!
It is close to the JR Hakata station but 30 min walk to Tenjin, shopping and dining area. But, if you would like to walk after having a full dinner, it is just a perfect distance. Otherwise, you can catch a cab, even to the airport - just 10-15 min and reasonable. Fukuoka airport may be the only airport in Japan that we can reach by a taxi with a reasonable price (less than 3,000 yen from Hakata station).
everything is simple but comfortable enough, the location was great, although it’s not next to any stations but was right in the heart of actions, which I actually preferred (as Fukuoka airport is v close to the city so it’s totally OK to stay a bit away from stations) and the cafe opens 24hours for guests is really a comforting policy for tiring travellers like me to grab a late night coffee / drinks etc.
Staying at S Peria Hotel Hakata - was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and attentive. They answered all of my questions and even helped me to get a Taxi to the airport. The room was comfortable although small. It had everything that I needed. I loved the shower! The hotel is located very close to Hakata Station and there are wonderful stores and restaurants near the hotel.
I love everything about this hotel.
It is a timeless classic luxury that I would love to come back to when in Fukuoka.
Hotspring is natural which is a plus.
Dinner at the Japanese restaurant was over the top.
I was very much impress.
Staff were also very accommodating.
P.S.
I love their pajamas too and would love to get one when I’m back again.
Everything was great at TKP Sunlife, the friendly staff, the location of the hotel is across the street from Hakata Station. The shops and great food is all just a couple of minutes away. The room was amazing and it was very spacious, the view of the city was great. Will be staying here again very soon when in Fukuoka. 10/10
Great location, 3 min walk to the station, less than 15 mins cab ride from airport if no traffic. The room is adequate for solo if you pick the queen bed. The switches in the room are well placed, clean and shower and bathroom water is hot and pressure great.
Note there are 3 Blossoms hotel in Hakata area
This hotel has a great location and has easy access to numerous JR lines and the Airport line of the subway. The room was very spacious and had floor-to-ceiling windows which was awesome. I loved that their TVs allowed casting and had YouTube built in, too. I also appreciated the free laundry!
Walkable to Hakata station and Canal City and the routes are quite straightforward. One of the bigger rooms I stayed and I love the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Price was reasonable at the time of booking. I'd love to stay here if I visit Fukuoka again!
It is near Hakata Station and there are many restaurants and konbinis nearby also. The receptionist was really helpful, they helped me book a taxi when going to the airport. The room is spacious and I really liked that there is a smart tv in the room.
Highly recommend this hotel. Right across the street from Hakata Station. Lovely lobby with great staff. Heated outdoor pool on the 13th floor was fun for the kids. Would definitely stay here again if we ever pass through Fukuoka.
The hotel locates at a prime position as it is close to airport and railway station (Hakata Ekimae). We can go the shopping centres and temples nearby on foot.
The room and bathroom is up to standard.
