The Japanese style room was so lovely! The staff are so friendly. There is a shuttle bus to take you to Hosshinmon-oji to walk a section of the Kumano Kodo. The meals are excellent and high quality. The onsen was fabulous after a very wet walk on the Kumano Kodo.

This was our first onsen experience and first time having totally Japanese style sleep accommodation and meals. It was overall a positive experience. Very different than Western style and we wanted that experience. The staff was very helpful and accommodating when needed.

A cool looking house in the traditional Japanese style with modern conveniences. It has a nice view of the impressive Torri that is unfortunately marred by the bug screens and telephone/electricity wires. Full kitchen, but we did not cook and just did take out from one of the only restaurants that stayed open past 6:00pm. There is a bus stop outside or it's an easy walk to the Hongu Taisha bus center next to the Tourist Office. We had the Western Bed option which was thick raised pads, much easier than sleeping on the floor after a long day.
