Hotel is surrounded by mountains, greens & farms, 30 min walking distance to the Bassenthwaite lake. We swam there. Staff and boss were so friendly and tried their best to meet our needs. I must thank Brett and his team who arranged our dessert marked 'Happy Anniversary' on our special day. We were very satisfying with our stay there.

Our hosts went out of their way to help us. We had an incident where the tire of our rental car blew out leaving us without access to a shop and no food in the cabin. They kindly provided us with a lasagne from their freezer which genuinely saved the evening for us.

The house was beautiful, loved the decor and had all the facilities you needed. The hot tub was lovely to use, especially after a long day of exploring. Kept updated by the host by messages and got all the instructions for the stay and top tips for the area. Would definitely stay again.
