The old town of Hastings and St Leonards were lovely, a fantastic skate park (Source Skatepark) by the beach and lots of attractions by the beach. The mini train rides and Smugglers adventure is fantastic and a good way to escape bad weather days.
Hastings high street/ main town is run down, uninviting and in desperate need of regeneration.

Hastings is a gem that i hadn't discovered before even though it is only two hours away from our home by car! it can certainly give Brighton a run for its money!
I hadn't appreciate that it is so big and therefore staying in St Leonards is quite a stretch by foot. We did use a bus though on one occasion which would work well if you had longer to figure it all out.
In the future I would seriously consider staying longer there. The May day events were so well organised too and every pub ( The Smugglers) and restaurant ( the Thai bookshop in George Street, Webbe's sea food restaurant on the sea frornt and Fagins in George Street)we went into we were greeted wholeheartedly-despite it being busy. The food in each was excellent.

I love Hastings. But I don’t appreciate it when the apartment I booked didn’t happen to exist.I had to book another place which was fantastic. The whole experience was stressful and not welcome, it was supposed to be a relaxing break.

Hastings has weathered recent years rather better than many towns. The Old Town area which was a little run down on my last visit has now been restored with many restaurants and the narrow streets had a friendly vibe missing from places like The Lanes in Brighton. The town centre is nothing special but only has a few empty shops. St Leonards seems to be its more upmarket twin although the transition between towns is seamless. The coastal area is varied including an under cover "bottle alley" and some good coffee shops (Goat Ledge being my favourite with a hippy vibe). It also felt safe with groups of people of all ages just enjoying being outdoors by the sea with some music. There seem to be plentiful buses to explore further afield and there are two funicular lifts to the top of the cliffs for a more scenic view and to visit the castle. Other towns on the south coast may have a better reputation, but I doubt that you'd get a hotel with sea view at such an affordable price and the locals are universally friendly.
Always first class. Thank you, what luxury & comfort.
Considering around same price there is a sub standard sea front Hotel offering rooms ~ but the Restaurant adjoining is a worth a visit ~. the lower priced choice will always be this Hastings room when available.
Brydges blows a lot of its competition out of the water. Love it, comfortable. Clean. Hygienic. Oh .. and a supply of real coffee, that .. is customer service! Friendly and kind, approachable management .
This is probably (for us) the best hotel in Hastings 😍
Situated between the Old Town and Town Center.
We had the room with balcony. It has the best view.
Downstairs there is the fish and chips shop. 🤤
We enjoyed breakfast at the Cornish Bakery and at Petit Fi.
Evenings in Ye Old Pump House, and around the corner The Jenny Lind. All within walking distance.
So lovely, the house is just gorgeous. The bed was comfy, very clean, lovingly decorated, very quiet. After a long day the soaking bath was great, as was the shower. Breakfast was delicious! The hosts Michael and Olivia were a wonderful and lovely couple, if we ever are in the Hastings area we would happily stay again. Thank you kindly for a great stay.
The whole hotel is immaculately and tastefully furnished. The rooms had everything we needed with some nice little touches (fresh milk and water). The breakfast was excellent.... quality ingredients freshly cooked and professionally presented. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome.
An absolutely delightful hotel facing the Hastings Sea Front with convenient access to Hastings Town Centre. Excellent service and support and a beautiful freshly prepared breakfast. I could not have asked for more. I especially enjoyed the comfy bed and walk-in shower! Highly Recommend!
15 Grosvenor Hotel is a lovely hotel. The decor has been updated to a lovely standard and the room was very nice. Alison the owner was always on call and was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was freshly cooked and was enjoyable.
Weekend break. Hotel Comfortable, Clean,Staff helpful and friendly, you only had to ask. Breakfast excellent, good choice .Hotel in Good location to walk into Old Hastings.regular Buses if you don't fancy walking.or taxis Restaurants close by.
An excellent location and the views of Hastings were lovely. It really was a home from home. Furnishings throughout the house were gorgeous and the kitchen was well equipped. Adriana's correspondence was excellent. We had a wonderful stay.
Hotel well situated. Everything I needed was at a short walk distance. Rooms were clean and very spacious. I was surprised by the size of my suite. Personnel was polite and helpful. Break fast was diversified and satisfying.
good hearing, but everything else is terrible. poor decor, poor bathroom, hasn’t been updated in the last 30 40 years by the look of it. convenient location, but is always the hotel I would pick last in Hastings.
The hotel was incredible, a really nice and well decorated victorian house. It makes you feel like you're back in the 19th Century. There are so many details, it's just great! The staff was really nice too!
The location couldn't be better, right in the middle of Hastings old town, just 2 minutes' walk from shops and bars. The property is quite something, a real throwback to the 1970s, but in a delightful way!
Definitely best hotel i have ever stayed in Hastings. Perfect location, wonderful sea views, nice furnishings, kind staff. I left a plug in the hotel and they are really helpful to post it to me!
One of the only hotels we could find in the Hastings area with a free on site car park.
Breakfast was good with fast service and good COVID booking procedures.
Nice room, nice view of the sea. Perfect location for the white rock theatre which is why we booked but also good for Hastings sea front and town center.
Great location on the beachfront about 20 mins from Hastings old town. There is a lovely beach bar right in front of the hotel and we enjoyed our stay.
