The best way for not getting soroche or altitude sickness is...
The best way for not getting soroche or altitude sickness is to drive straight from the airport to the Sacred Valley and stay there at least the first 3 days of your stay in Cusco. This is the best way to get your body used to such a high altitude and avoid getting sick. Urubamba has great restaurants and hotels all around, so there’s plenty of choices for lunch and dinner. The weather is much warmer and nicer than Cusco and it’s a great hub for visiting the ruins around the place.

Urubamba is the perfect base from which to explore the Sacred Valley. It's also a quieter, less overtouristed alternative to Cuzco. Visitors can walk clear across town without being stopped by touts every few steps, but getting to Ollantaytambo, Moray and Maras is a breeze (and cheap). The town also has plenty of great dining options, all for much less than you'd pay in Cuzco, and it's perfect for people watching. It may seem a bit rough around the edges at first but within a day you'll find it comfortable and even homey.AndreCanada - 8.0Scored 8.0

The hotel is modern and the room was spacious and clean with a really modern and powerful shower. The breakfast on the top floor was one of the best we have had in Peru! White linen table cloths, fresh fruit, breads and eggs made upon request and served to you at your table- a million miles from the usual buffet service served by other hotels. Absolutely recommend, a short taxi from Urubamba, Moras and Moray- perfect base for Sacred Valley stay.

I understand that Peruvians do not usually drink milk with coffee but many foreigners prefer either milk or powdered milk in their coffee. This would be a nice addition. The bedding was warm and greatly appreciated. It was a perfect stop in Urubamba.
