Clean nice hotel and rooms; the staff is very accommodating, friendly & helpful; also nice to have a restaurant on the property so you don't have to travel far for a meal; it was good to have a secure place to park your vehicle; & it was the perfect location for us, right across the street from my medical appointment at CPMC.

Ideally set in the Van Ness district of San Francisco, Calista Organic Hotel is set 1.5 km from Union Square, 2.6 km from Moscone Center and 2.7 km from Ghirardelli Square. My wife and I are European. We grew up together in a town in Europe. I know, a very romantic story, but more on that another day. We feel this boutique hotel has a European vibe and style. We don’t like large chain hotels with a plastic feel and big neon signs that all look the same and have no personality. Some people like those kinds of hotels and that’s great for them, but it doesn’t match our personal preferences. We like the European, apartment-style feel of this hotel. It reminds us of home. The rooms are cozy, comfortable and clean. The hotel is secure with every guest having their own unique digital lock code to get in to the front door and a separate digital lock code for their room. We like that the hotel is close to everything and that we can walk to all the restaurants and stores we enjoy. I looked up the hotel on Walk Score and this hotel has Walk Store of 99 out of 100. That’s important for us because we grew up walking to every place and the ability of being in the center of everything and walking to the places we like is one of the most important criteria for us.
