San Gerardo de Dota and particularly Savegre Hotel and its surroundings are one of the best spots for bird watching. Their gardens are from paradise and and the cloud forest arriund is from fairy tale.

Very nice place with an amazing view and really comfortable beds. While some people were complaining about cold temperatures, we cannot agree. One of the few stays with very a hot and strong shower, rooms were not cold and tons of bedsheets were provided. Food was also great.

Beautiful location, plenty of space to sleep, relax, have meals plus great views. Very helpful staff that visited the house while we were away and prepared fireplace for us after we used wood the day before. Perfect location to explore Savegre forest and this area. In the cottage we found a contact to very good, profesional birdwatching guide.
