I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel in Gose
Located in Gose, 14 miles from Subaru Hall, Yado Charinko provides accommodations with free bikes, free private parking and a garden. The concept of the hotel that merges itself into the community. The hotel itself does not provide everything as one-stop service as another, you have to wander around the town to find the things you are looking for (sometime over your expectation). I was so enjoyed staying there and also the time to talk with the locals (but you may need to have some Japanese communication skill, or even you cannot, I am certainly sure that they will somehow communicate with you with their best). You must try Sento, the public available for free to their guest staying there.

Beautiful place. Shigi-san is a mountain full of temples and hiking routes with great views of Nara. You can travel there by bus from Oji station and save money instead of taking a taxi. If you are not into 'buddism and shukubo', one night at a hotel or a temple is just fine.
I was amazed at the high quality of this hotel! I worked hard to find affordable accommodation in the areas I wanted to photograph during my time in Japan and I was really surprised how high-class the APA Hotel Kintetsu-Nara was! They said it was a “modern urban hotel” and it was really like a modern American hotel with bigger rooms than other Japanese hotels and a lot included for a really affordable price! - My photos are of the “fish option”brunch they gave me when I came back from my morning photography time. Amazing!
Nara
The location was great because it is located in a shopping district with great access to food and other stores for buying souvenirs. It is also a short 5 min walk to the outskirts of Nara Park and some local museums. The breakfast tastes AMAZING with great service. They ask you when you want your breakfast and you show up with everything already prepared for you. Since its a ryokan, everything is very traditional so the service, the facilities, and everything else gives you a great experience of the Japanese culture
Nara
I had a wonderful experience at Hilo Hostel in Nara. The room was clean and fresh, and the shared bathroom was in excellent condition. The common area had everything needed to cook a meal, enjoy a reheated dish, and have a great time. But what really made our stay memorable was the owner, Mr. Hilo. He's an incredibly kind individual, always eager to assist tourists, up for a chat, and he welcomed us in a way that made us feel right at home. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to all future visitors to Nara.
Location was ideal: adjacent to the JR Nara station, yet isolated from the hustle bustle. A well-appointed grocery store was nearby as was a Starbucks located in a historic building. Hotel was similar to other 3-Star accommodations in Japan; compact yet full of modern amenities. Property was recently rebranded as a Spa, yet I didn’t take advantage of low-cost public bathing facility. Having a separate laundromat with microwave and beverage machine were added bonuses. Room had a work desk. WiFi was robust.
Location ok for our purpose which was touring Nara region by car. Hotel is apparently well known for its thermal baths (which we didn't use). Breakfast abundant, with much variety, although a bit slow in replacing what has been consumed. Interesting happy hour with free drinks in the evening. Room with lots of space, two large single beds that allows using as double beds (we understood that queen or king beds are not available). Receptionist Mireya was very helpful to find our way around.
Nara
One of the best place we stay at. The services provided by the hotel, and the very nice hotel staff were top notch. The in room private onsen, and the public one was excellent. We stayed in a Japanese style room, love all the detail of the corridor and the style. We especially enjoy the half board meals provided. I recommend anyone stay there to get it. I’ll definitely come back again if I’m visiting Nara again. Hotel is located very close to the train station and buses are easy walk to.
The staff at Nara Hotel offers a level of service that has disappeared from most more modern hotels. As we were climbing the hill pulling our bags behind us, one of the support personnel saw us and immediately came to our assistance. Inside another helper took charge of taking our luggage to our room. We felt pampered and relieved. The same sort of attention was offered enthusiastically by the dining room servers. The front desk personnel also went out of their way to help us.
Nara
The nicest and most welcoming host you could ask for. Out of the 10 places I stayed during my trip Guest House Oku has got to be the best just for the how welcoming it was. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time chatting with the host and other people staying there, sitting in the kitchen drawing together and trying to learn a little bit of Japanese. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. I hope that when I am able to revisit Nara, I will be able to stay here again!
Great economical hotel. Booked last minute. Recommend the buffet breakfast which had both western and Japanese offerings. Hotel is located across from the JR Nara station which was great for access. 7-Eleven is just down the street, and restaurants nearby. Nara has a lot to see and do. Being right off the train, this could be a good choice for those looking for a hub to make day trips from. Washers and dryers are available for a small fee in the hotel (400¥).
Nara
A very nice and chilling experience. We liked our traditional style room very much. Although there was no shower in the room, it had a private toilet and wash basin. It was actually more spacious than regular Japanese hotel rooms and it was very clean. The private onsen was amazing, the best of the experience after a long walk, do not miss your privage time slot. The hotel staff was very helpful and we had a great chilling time in Nara, thanks to this ryokan.
This is a very excellent Hotel, with the most convenient location of any hotel that I have experienced in Japan, just one short block from the Jr Nara train station. From the train station, buses can take you anywhere that you would want to go in the Nara area, and to me, the Nora area is the best and most important sightseeing in Japan. The breakfast is excellent, as are the rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Nara
This is a lovely quiet hotel just outside Nara. The facilities are a little dated and could use an upgrade. Nevertheless this is a wonderful little find. The Onsen is quiet and easily accessible. The room was huge, bed super comfortable and the restaurant on site was amazing!! Love that they supply kimonos for dressing for traditional dinner. Breakfast is a good mix of western diet and Japanese breakfast foods.
Nara
Hotel with a traditional style located a short walk from Kintetsu-Nara station. Good sized room and very friendly, helpful and attentive staff who made our stay a pleasure. We had booked with breakfast included and would highly recommend the traditional Japanese option. Staff were readily acommodating of our request to have dinner in our room the following evening even though we had not pre-booked this.
I booked the Super Hotel Premier JR Nara Eki only a few days prior to arrival in Nara and I am so glad I did. I was moving around Japan with a bicycle bag and related gear, so the location and convenience of this hotel was wonderful. The staff were very helpful at every turn and the facilities (e.g. laundry) were great. The breakfast was very good and I will definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Nara
Nicest, helpful staff, who give you the best advice in very good English and CARE:). Great location (walking distance from both stations and easy to find), friendly amenities - clean shared facilities + possibility to have tea or coffee, lots of books to go through if you have a spare minute. When we go back to Nara we definitely stay at Yuzan. And it was the biggest room we had in Japan:).
This property is a gem! My family and I were visiting from San Diego and one of our stops was in Nara. Kyokosan made us feel at home with the breakfast, treats and hospitality she provided. It is also hard to find accommodations in Japan that are the size of western homes but this one is very spacious. I only wished we would have spent more time to be able to enjoy the home more.
Hotel Pagoda is right next to Nara Park, so getting an early start before the crazy crowds arrive or visiting a more peaceful park after they leave will greatly enhance your experience. The room is basic, but just got a recent refresh and remodel, so that makes it a great bargain for the price. It has a ridiculously huge bathtub and bathing room and includes bath salts.
Nara
Such a gorgeous hotel! Our room was lovely, we had our own private hot onsen on the balcony and it was nice to sleep in traditional Japanese beds. The hotel’s onsen is perfect for relaxing after a long day of sight seeing, and the staff are very sweet and helpful. It’s in a great location, within walking distance from of landmarks in Nara.
Overall a great experience and a highlight of our trip - amazing host, excellent dinner and breakfast (make sure to order these when staying here!), very cozy Japanese-style rooms. Good location, too - very peaceful neighborhood, but still close to all the sights. We'll be sure to stay here again next time we're in Nara!
Everything! This was such a treat of a place. I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff are so kind and helpful; the futons were comfortable; the breakfast was the best I had in Japan and the location could not have been better. Super close to Nara Park and also walking distance from both train stations
