View is great, bathtub is lovely and very smartly designed with the glass. Tastefully designed and felt like luxury. The soap/shampoo/conditioner/body balm was super luxurious as well - made me go google on where I can buy it from. We were here on our honeymoon and they went the extra mile with rose petals and chocolates and towels folded to look like swans. Staff was really sweet and she helped us move our luggages up the slope to our room on level two, explained how everything worked. Breakfast was great - with cooked eggs (scrambled or fried) and bacon and grilled tomato and hashbrown etc, made to order when youre in the dining room (you can also opt to have it served in your room). The Godley Hotel offers country-style accommodation in the alpine village of Lake Tekapo on the South Island. The hotel is centrally located in the village with views of the lake and mountains. Amazing views of the lake from the bedroom.

MacKenzie Country Hotel is located in Twizel, in the heart of the Aoraki Mount Cook and MacKenzie Country Region. It offers modern rooms with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast was REALLY good! Not complimentary but a great selection and everything was quite tasty.

We’ve traveled to 65 countries and never fell in love with a home so deeply like this one. The design, the warmth, the views of lake tekapo, the night sky, the cleanliness, convenience, area, ease of access. It’s huge! 3 bedrooms! We were four but it could have easily fit 8. The rooms were clean and at the level of a hotel. There were mini bags of laundry detergent, make up removing wipes - so many thoughtful little touches that the couple Jen & Hamish set out for their guests. We had NZ staple snack set aside for us upon arrival. Jen and Hamish are the best hosts ever, I actually met them and asked them if they would do another as we just loved the home. It gets booked out fast, so if in tekapo, I wouldn’t wait to book it.
