A gorgeous retreat in the heart of Gères National Park. We stayed in the glamping tents with our two dogs (retriever and Australian shepherd). Couldn’t believe the tents had air conditioning. This place is definitely a gem. They had a pool over looking the lake and the park offers all types of adventures from horseback riding to canyoning. And for those looking to relax, they also offered yoga classes, massages, and guided nature/river walks. WiFi reached everywhere, had great service. Staff was wonderful - they even gave us charcoal briquettes to grill! Highly recommend! I would come back in a heartbeat.

Located in the Serra do Gerês, Hotel S. Bento da Porta Aberta offers accommodations with balconies that provide unique views of the surroundings. This hotel exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a room with balcony and mountain view - very much worth the difference in price. The view was gorgeous. The room was warm when we arrived - such a treat in January, thank you! The room was of a good size, the mattress and pillows of high quality. The room, bathroom and everywhere in the hotel were not only clean but also disinfected. This made us feel safe at all times as we could see staff were taking all possible measures to ensure safety. Breakfast was amazing and we appreciated there were three slots to space out people and ensure safety for all guests. Overall we had an excellent time and actually we tried to book another night but unfortunately it was sold out! Will be staying there again for sure.
