I was born in Lisbon but lived in Sintra area for a few years in the late 90's early 2000's. I was so in love with those moments that the moment arrived to come back when we found this beautiful house in need of some care. We did the interior design by ourselves and went hunting for vintage furniture and objects that suited our taste and the feeling we wanted the house to have. My wife is an actress, born in Norway but living in Portugal for some years now, and I'm a photographer and a photography teacher. We love to host and we use the house for ourselves and our friends.
The quiet village of Penedo (Aldeia do Espírito Santo), lies on the Sintra Hills (natural park) facing the Atlantic. The forest walks are just around the corner and beaches are 10 minutes away by car, where you can have surf lessons. But the area offer much more than that. Colares is just below and is well known for it's unique wine (there is a winery at the village that you can visit), Sintra and it's palaces, castles and fairy tale environment is 15 minutes away. But you also have Cascais (and Guincho), at another 15 minutes or even Lisbon at 40 km distance. There is plenty to do but we guess that once you're there you probably just enjoy the house, relax and go for an occasional program.
